Getting started with your display

Connections

Start by carefully unpacking your monitor and connecting the power cable to a suitable wall socket. Use the HDMI, DisplayPort or VGA cable supplied to connect your monitor to your computer or other compatible device. For televisions, also connect any set-top boxes or multimedia devices.

First boot

  • To power on your display, press the power button typically located on the front or back of the device.
  • If your screen doesn’t light up, check that the power cable is correctly connected to a wall socket and the screen. Wait a few minutes and try again.

Basic use

Your refurbished display is equipped with a variety of features to meet your daily viewing needs. Use the buttons on the screen or the remote control (for TVs) to navigate the various menus and adjust parameters such as brightness, contrast and picture mode.

Connectivity

Displays are equipped with several connectivity options, including HDMI, DisplayPort and, for some older models, VGA, for connecting to computers and other multimedia devices. Observe the available ports on the back or underside of your display and plug in the cable supplied with your device, or use another compatible cable to establish the connection.

Security and Health

Screens are not associated with SAR (Specific Absorption Rate), which concerns devices emitting radiofrequencies. However, it is important to consider the impact of prolonged screen use on visual health. Here are a few tips for minimizing eye fatigue:

  • Use the visual comfort mode: many screens today are equipped with blue-light-reducing modes to improve eye comfort.
  • Take regular breaks: follow the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes, look at something 6 meters away from you for at least 20 seconds.
  • Adjust room lighting: work in a well-lit room to avoid excessive contrast between the screen and the environment.
  • Avoid reflections: position the screen to avoid reflections of natural or artificial light.

  • When your display reaches the end of its life, you have several options:
    • Use your local selective collection system (waste collection center, local collection).
    • Return your old device when purchasing a new one (one-for-one trade-in by the distributor), if the option is available to you.
    • If possible, replace parts with the manufacturer or an authorized repairer.

Maintenance and Durability

  • Turn off the device when not in use to save energy.
  • Reduce the brightness of the display screen, if applicable.
  • Disable unused connectivity features such as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to avoid unnecessary battery drain.
  • Avoid leaving your device plugged in continuously.

Regarding the provided cables, here are some tips:

  • Cables can be fragile. Handle them carefully and avoid practices that could damage them.
  • Avoid pulling the power cable and use extension cords instead.

Cleaning

Cleaning your display

Clean the exterior of your device occasionally by following these steps:

  1. Turn off your device and unplug the power adapter and any other cables.
  2. Use only mild cleaning solutions (ammonia-free and non-abrasive) and a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth to clean the exterior of your product. Disinfectant wipes can also be used.
  3. Clean using a circular motion, ensuring no water seeps into the openings.
  4. Wipe the surface again with a dry cloth to remove any remaining liquid.
  5. Wait until the surface is completely dry before turning the device back on.

Cleaning your screen

Warning: Never spray or pour liquid cleaner directly onto the screen.

Turn off your device and unplug the power adapter, then:

  • Use a soft, slightly damp (with water), lint-free cloth to clean the screen.
  • Gently wipe the screen, ensuring no water seeps into the openings.
  • Allow the screen to dry completely before turning the device back on.
  • Do not use compressed air. It can compact dust and debris into potentially harmful areas, causing irreversible damage.

Notes:

  • For stubborn stains, you can also use wipes specially designed for screens.
  • Be careful to avoid liquid runoff onto the device and its peripherals.

Disinfecting your devices

  • Turn off your device and unplug the power plug.
  • Prepare your cleaning wipes. Hydrogen peroxide or alcohol-based wipes are recommended. Do not use wipes containing sodium hypochlorite (bleach).
  • Start by cleaning the back, then the front, and finally the screen (if present) of your device. Gently wipe each surface with the wipe, ensuring no liquid seeps into the openings.
  • After the prescribed contact time on the wipes’ packaging, wipe off the residual solvent as soon as possible. Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth for this.
  • Allow your device to dry completely before turning it back on.

Note: medical wipes and their chemical composition can affect your device. Depending on the chemicals, frequency, and duration of use, medical wipes can impact the aesthetic appearance and functionality of the system. To minimize this risk, always use standard cleaning wipes and follow the provided instructions.
